2018 Adventura Everest Base Camp Trek

We are offering two treks in one this year, both to Everest Base Camp (EBC).

The first is 16 day, Kathmandu to Lukla from where we trek to EBC and Kalapatar and back to Lukla to fly back to Kathmandu.

The second is the same as the first but instead of flying out from Lukla we carry on down for 3 days to the very remote and unspoilt area of Sotang where we have our Adventura Foundation helping 2,000 people with school buildings, sanitation, water and electric supply after the devastating earthquake of 2015: (adventure.foundation) We will stay in the main village for 3 days before making our way down to Phaplu to fly back to Kathmandu, making this a 26 day trip.

A donation is made to the Adventura Foundation for every client that treks with us in Nepal.

Please email info@adventuraexpeditions.com for booking information.

Adventura Everest Base Camp and Kalapatar from £1,695

This trek begins with an “eye opening” flight to Lukla at 2800 metres. The trek passes through the picturesque Sherpa village of Namche Bazaar to Gorakshep culminating in the ascent of Kalapattar (5545m) from where classic views of Everest and its surrounding peaks are visible. Most of the trek is spent above altitudes of 3000m in the Khumbu and Imja valleys whose skylines are dominated by the massive peaks of the Eastern Himalayas.

Although this trek is a short trek (unless you take the extended trek to Sotang!), by Nepal standards, there will be plenty of time to enjoy the culture of the Sherpas, visit ancient monasteries and learn how Lamaistic Buddhism influences Sherpa Life. Stop at any of the numerous tea houses, sip a glass of sweetened tea or Chang (millet beer) and get a taste of the hospitality unique to the Sherpas. Beautiful, multi-hued prayer flags, prayer wheels and intricately carved Mani stones line every hilltop, rock wall and trail side singing prayers to the gods with every breeze and every passing traveller.

The mountains can be seen from Kalapattar (5545m) are Mt. Everest (8850m), Lhotse (8516m) and Nuptse (7861m). Changtse (7543m) in Tibet is also visible from this summit. We also get a good panoramic view of Amadablam (6812m), Taboche (Tawoche 6495) and Kusum Kanguru (6370m), from a completely different angle.
